I try to create paintings that are always in my heart and mind. These images are constant reminders of the past I remember, which are generally inspired by old photographs, recollections and experiences. Nostalgia is the foundation of my work and the beginning of my creative process. I want to evoke a mood of tranquility, harmony and meditation upon the subjects I'm exploring. Each painting, finished in miniature, reflects a world of its own. Miniatures reveal different experiences as opposed to viewing large-scale works. They have the presence of physical fragility and the jewel-like quality that I love. These small-scale paintings are windows to an intimate world and a glimpse of memory.
